Opportunities to join our South London Scouts team and make a real difference

County Structure

It's people that make scouting happen at every level of our County. From our County Lead  to the Chair of our Board of Trustees, and the incredible South London Scouts County Team who provide support to our Districts, Groups and Units. These are just some of the superstars who've stepped up to inspire a generation across the County.  

We're proud that South London Scouts is a volunteer led movement. Working in partnership with our development and volunteer support service and local volunteers, our County team serves scouting across Bexley, Bromley, Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and The Royal Borough of Greenwich. 

That's where you come in.  

We have lots of exciting opportunities to get involved as a member of our county team. Our innovative spirit and ability to make things happen plays a vital role in the development of young people across South & South East London. When you get involved you are making a choice to make a big impact on the lives of over 9,800 young people across our County.

Leaders and young people

Our county team brings together staff and volunteers to serve the entire movement. With over 70 volunteers supporting us at a county level, we working together to equip young people with the skills they need to success in life.

  • Manager of the activity permit scheme (MAPS) / Permit Approver

    Volunteer role: Our County Manager of the Activity Permit Scheme (MAPS) supports everyone who is responsible for the management of the activity permit scheme locally. Our Permit Approvers have the important responsibility of issuing adventurous activity permits and nights away permits, following the recommendations given by the Adventurous Activity Assessor and Nights Away Assessor.
