Are you ready for an epic 24-hour adventure that’s as meaningful as it is fun? The Explorer 24 YouShape Event, taking place from 8th to 9th March 2025, is inspired by the thrilling energy of Gilwell 24 and offers Explorers a one-of-a-kind experience.

Over the course of an action-packed day and night, you’ll take on thrilling games, push yourself with exciting challenges, and participate in forums that give you the power to shape Scouting at every level—from your local group to national decisions.

Represent South London at the UK Youth Forum

South London Scouts is looking for enthusiastic Scouts, Explorers, and Networkers to represent the county at the UK Youth Forum on 15th March 2025 in Oxford. This national event empowers young people to share ideas, collaborate, and shape the future of Scouting.

We’re forming a delegation of 2 Scouts, 2 Explorers, 1 Networker, and our County Youth Lead to bring South London’s vibrant voice to the forum. Participants will engage in workshops, discussions, and networking, ensuring our perspectives help shape Scouting’s strategy and future.

This exciting new opportunity is perfect for Explorers who want to step into a leadership role, develop valuable skills, and help showcase Scouting in South London.

Take Part in Local Voice

This November, Scouts and Explorers will have the exciting opportunity to engage directly with local decision-makers, including MPs, councillors, and community leaders. Through these impactful conversations, young people can share their views, experiences, and ideas, helping to shape the future of their communities and beyond.

As part of UK Parliament Week, this initiative celebrates democracy and the power of youth voices to drive change. It’s a chance for Scouts and Explorers to showcase the incredible work they’re doing, the skills they’re building, and the positive impact Scouting has on individuals and communities.

Earn the YouShape Awards

The YouShape Award is open to all sections—Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers—and focuses on embedding Youth Shaped Scouting into every group. Covering four key areas—Central, Plan, Lead, and Represent—the award empowers young people to take ownership of their Scouting experience, develop leadership skills, and make a real impact.
