26th World Scout Jamboree

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is an international gathering of Scouts and Guides from all around the world. The World Scout Jamboree is an opportunity for young people and adult volunteers to make international friendships with people from different cultures, and take part in a safe, inclusive and sustainable programme of activities

World Scout Jamborees are fantastic events and their impact on those that attend can be, in some circumstances, life changing. Many young people and adults return from Jamborees exhausted but elated! The role of the Unit Leadership team is key in making sure that all the participants in the Unit have a positive experience of the Jamboree – from the moment they are selected right through until the end of the Jamboree experience (which will not be until August 2028).

The UK Scouts has a long history of sending large number of Units (36 young people and four leaders, divided into four patrols) as part of a UK Contingent to attend World Scout Jamborees.  The units represent each of the UK’s counties and countries/regions, with unit numbers be allocated based on the numbers of young people in each area.   Each Jamboree is a very different experience based on its location and design but there are also many common factors of such an international event.

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in July/August 2027, and will take place from 30 July to 8 August 2027, bringing together Scouts from all over the globe for a unique celebration of unity, adventure, and shared learning (www.jamboree2027.org).

Adventure awaits. Are you ready to go global?

The World Scout Jamboree is no ordinary camp – it’s the ultimate international Scouting adventure, bringing together tens of thousands of young people from across the globe to learn, connect and make memories that last a lifetime. The next Jamboree is happening 30 July to 8 August 2027 in Gdańsk, Poland, and we want YOU to be part of it.

Whether you're a Scout or Explorer born between 31 July 2009 and 31 July 2013, this is your chance to represent South London, meet people from every continent, and be part of something massive.

What’s a Jamboree really like?

Picture this:

  • Camping alongside Scouts from over 150 countries
  • Trying out epic activities you’ve never even heard of
  • Trading badges, making friends, and learning from each other
  • Singing, dancing, and laughing with 40,000 other Scouts
  • Coming home tired, proud, and forever changed

And that’s just the beginning. You'll also be part of a South London Unit that trains together, bonds over shared adventures, and supports each other every step of the way – from selection to the Jamboree and beyond.
