Lewisham Scout District was formed in 2011 as a result of the merger of Lewisham Manor and Lewisham North Scout Districts, with three scout groups and an explorer scout unit from Deptford (formerly in Albany Scout District).

The District’s boundaries are the same as those for the London Borough of Lewisham.

The district has 26 scout groups and eight explorer scout units, a scout network, a district scout active support unit and a campsite, Frylands Wood Scout Outdoor Centre in New Addington.

The district provides scouting for over 1300 young people and is supported by approximately 500 volunteers. The district offers scouting throughout the borough.

Our Scout Outdoor Centre, Frylands Wood, provides a range of adventurous activities such as climbing, archery, tunnelling, hiking, air rifle shooting, slack lining and assault course.

The district runs a full programme of events for each section including hiking, five-a-side football, an Easter egg hunt, ‘Ready Steady Cook’, and bowling, as well as many more exciting and challenging activities.

In more recent years, scouts and explorers have taken part in international expeditions to Nepal and Kenya.
