Safeguarding training

This training is needs to be completed by everyone who holds an appointment in scouting and ensures that you stay up-to-date on safeguarding practice and your understand your responsibilities as a member of scouts.

It's important that safeguarding training is completed within the first five months of your role start date (as recorded on your membership record on Compass), and then kept up to date. It is required to be renewed every three years.

There are five lessons in the module and an assessment at the end. You’ll need to score 100% in the assessment to unlock the certificate of completion.

The training covers:
  -  our safeguarding policy and how to keep young people
      and adults at risk safe
  -  the Young People First Safeguarding Card Code of Practice (Yellow Card)
  -  how to recognise abuse
  -  how to report concerns
  -  what to do to keep scouts safe

This training is independent learning, so you don’t have to attend a course to complete it. Simply click on the link below:

Please note:

This module produces a certificate at the end of the learning.  You will need to print or screen shot this and pass it on to your training advisor who will be able to validate the module on Compass.

If you are unable to print your certificate for any reason please save it as a .png file or take a screen shot of the page. Please do not save the web link as an alternative to printing the certificate, as this will expire once you leave the browser and your certificate will be lost. If your certificate will not load and only shows a blank screen please take a screenshot of the final page prior to selecting the certificate as proof of learning.
