| Skills for Residential Experiences (module 38) | This training delivers the skills needed to help you achieve your Nights Away Permit and for anyone else who wishes to increase their knowledge. It does not automatically qualify a participant for a Nights Away Permit. It is an opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed for the Nights Away Permit Assessment. We would recommend completing the Introduction to Residential Experiences course before attending, or at least have attended and taken part in at least two camps previously as a Volunteer Participants will be expected to camp overnight and will be split into 'Patrols' for the purposes of planning, buying and cooking your own meals within the budget provided. Full details will be emailed to participants before the course. |

| Skills of Leadership & Working with Adults (modules 8 & 9) Saturday 30th 10am - 1pm | Skills of Leadership provides the knowledge and skills to demonstrate leadership in the context of Scout Teams where leadership of a team may change according to the task and be dynamic, be able to plan systematically, lead effectively by demonstrating a range of leadership styles and understand how different leadership styles impact on learning. Working with Adults provides the knowledge and skills to communicate effectively with other adults and understand how teams work, including the different roles people play and how different personality types impact on teams. |
| Growing the Section (module 13) Saturday 30th 2 - 4pm | Information and practical advice on how to grow your Section and the ways in which a Volunteer can assist their Line Manager and others to plan for and contribute to the growth of their Group. Validation of this course is required to complete the Wood Badge. |
| Practical Skills (modules 18) Sunday 31st 10am - 1pm | Practical Skills is for Volunteers and anyone wishing to train, coach or otherwise help young people and adults develop practical skills. It requires participants to gain or develop at least two new practical skills of their own. Participants will be expected to bring along a 'skill' that they can share with the other participants. Validation of this course is required to complete the Wood Badge. |
| Introduction to Residential Experiences & International (modules 16 & 19) Sunday 31st 2 - 4pm | Introduction to Residential Experiences is for Volunteers who may organise or support residential experiences for young people as part of their role in Scouting. It is intended to provide an introduction to residential experiences, and does not qualify a participant for a Nights Away Permit. We recommend attending this course before attending the Skills for Residential Experiences course. International provides Volunteers with the information and methods they need to plan and run international activities as part of their programmes. It also encourages active participation in international activities across the age ranges. It does not cover leading or supporting international trips and nights away. |
