Meet the South London Scouts Jamboree Leadership Team

We’re proud to introduce the leadership team who will be supporting South London’s journey to the 26th World Scout Jamboree, taking place in Gdańsk, Poland in 2027.

These four volunteers bring a fantastic mix of energy, experience, and a genuine passion for helping young people get the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. From international Scouting to weekly section meetings, they’ve done it all — and now they’re ready to take 36 young people from across South London to the world stage.

Steph – Unit Leader

Steph

Steph leads Beavers at Chislehurst Invicta and supports Cavemen Explorer Scout Unit in Bromley. She’s also a key member of both the Bromley District Youth Events Team and the South London Scouts Media Team.

Steph brings international experience to the team, having served as Deputy Unit Leader for Unit 34 at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea. That experience left such an impression, she’s back to do it all again – this time leading the way for South London.

Outside of Scouts, Steph works for the London Ambulance Service and can often be found on the rugby pitch when she’s not in uniform!

Joseph – Deputy Unit Leader

Joseph is the County Youth Lead for South London Scouts, where he empowers young people to influence decision-making and shape Scouting across the county. He’s also part of ann Explorer Team and Scout team in Royal Greenwich.

He was previously an Assistant Unit Leader for Unit 61, a joint unit between South London and Hampshire at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea, and is excited to help a new generation create unforgettable memories.

Professionally, Joseph works as a consultant structural engineer – and when he’s not on site or in Scouts, he’s usually out exploring London and saying yes to whatever adventure comes his way.

Jodie – Assistant Unit Leader

Jodie is the Cub Section Team Leader at 9th Sidcup Scouts, but she also helps out with Scouts and supports all sections in her group when it comes to planning activities and camps.

Jodie’s looking forward to the friendships, cultural discovery and unforgettable moments the Jamboree will bring – especially sharing that journey with 36 young people from across South London.

Outside of Scouts, she works as a teacher, loves paddleboarding, walking her dog, and spending time with friends and family. She’s always up for getting stuck in and keeping things fun and active.

Josh – Assistant Unit Leader

Josh is an Explorer Scout Leader in Royal Greenwich, where he’s been volunteering since he was 19. He’s passionate about helping young people challenge themselves and achieve their goals. He’s also part of the County Top Awards Team, helping train Explorers to complete their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award by canoe.

He’s especially excited to watch the young people grow in confidence and make international connections at the Jamboree.

When he’s not adventuring with Scouts, Josh works in IT, loves all things tech, and is often heard asking “Have you tried turning it off and on again?”

Together, they are…

Your South London Scouts Jamboree Unit Leadership Team!
Over the next two years, Steph, Joseph, Jodie and Josh will support our young people through local training weekends, preparation events, and eventually, their journey to Poland in summer 2027.

This is more than a trip — it’s a global adventure, and we’re in very good hands.
